Questions?
How long will the build take?
Depends on your pace. I did it over several months working weekends. If you went at it full-time, you could complete it in 2-3 weeks. The foundation alone needs a few weeks to cure, so factor that in.
What skills do I need?
Basic DIY competence - using a drill, saw, spirit level. If you've built a shed or done light carpentry, you can do this. The framing is straightforward stud walls.
Do I need an electrician?
Yes - for the heater connection. This needs to be done by a qualified electrician and certified. Budget £200-400 for this.
What about planning permission?
Most garden saunas don't need planning permission under permitted development rights. I've written a detailed article on this - it's included in the plans and free on the website.
Can I modify the design?
The plans are yours to adapt. Want it slightly bigger? Different roof pitch? Go for it. The principles stay the same.
