After several months of weekend work, here's the result - a proper Finnish-style sauna in a British garden.

Foundation

Everything starts with a solid concrete base. This took about 5 days including digging, laying Type 1, and pouring concrete.

Framing

Standard stud wall construction. Nothing fancy - just solid, square framing that will last decades.

Insulation & Vapour Barrier

Critical for UK climate - proper insulation and a continuous vapour barrier to handle temperature swings and humidity.

Interior Panelling

Thermo-aspen from Thermory - beautiful dark finish that stays cool to touch. Fixed with a nail gun over chalk lines for neat, aligned fixings.

Benches & Finishing

Thermo-alder benches, tiled floor matching the external patio, and granite skirting upstand to protect the base of the walls.
